Causal prediction

The expected outcome of a scene or plot based on the audience's unconscious ability to predict what is going to happen later in a story.

A casual prediction is the expected outcome of a scene or plot based on the audience's unconscious ability to predict what is going to happen later in a story and assuming known causes and effects. Such predictions can be used by the author to introduce unexpected twists or variants in the storyline.
