Conforming

The process of editing an audio or video project to create the final master.

Conforming describes the process of editing media to create the final master. More specifically, conforming is the activity of replacing low-quality or placeholder media with high-quality, original files. During conforming, the offline edit master is used as a guide. When properly configured, most digital editing platforms can perform the conforming process automatically.
