Denouement

In scriptwriting: the unfolding of the driving story, or the final resolution or conclusion of a plot.

In scriptwriting, the final resolution or conclusion of an intricate plot. The word is borrowed from French vocabulary and means unknot. It's the moment in the storyline where the final outcome is revealed and all the loose ends are tied up. On a timeline, the vast majority of denouements occur at the tail end of a plot.
