Shot List

A detailed description of all the shots that will be part of a scene, a film, or a video.

A shot list is a document that maps everything that will happen in a scene by describing the shots within that film or video. It includes details about shot types, camera movements, lighting, actor staging, and much more. It provides the film crew with a sense of direction and preparedness for the project. It is usually made in collaboration with the director and cinematographer.

Shot lists are a valuable tool for film and videomakers to manage and prepare the scenes. A shot list helps filmmakers remember what is wanted, and how to execute it. Having a concrete document helps to match shots with equipment, determine how long setting up the shots will take, as well as most of the schedule and budget.
